Hiring and job seeking in Toronto & the GTA — plain answers
Go to Post a Job on worktap.ca, fill out the single-page form with your listing details and how applicants should reach you. Every submission is reviewed before it appears on the board. After you submit, you will see optional boost options if you want top placement.
Open a job that interests you and use the apply option the employer provided — usually a link to their site, an email address, or a phone number. Worktap does not have a resume upload box or message inbox in version one. You apply directly with the employer.
No. Candidates browse and apply without logging in. Employers submit listings through the post form without a separate employer login account.
Worktap focuses on hourly and hands-on work in Toronto and the GTA: trades (electrician, plumbing, HVAC, construction), hospitality (servers, line cooks, bartenders, kitchen staff), transport and driving, and fitness roles. We do not focus on office or white-collar recruiting.
Worktap is focused on Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area — including Mississauga, Brampton, Markham, Vaughan, Scarborough, North York, Etobicoke, and nearby suburbs. Listings far outside that scope may not fit what we publish.
Yes. Posting a standard job listing on Worktap is free for employers while we grow in Toronto and the GTA. Optional paid boost placement is available if you want your listing pinned near the top of the board.
Most listings are reviewed within one business day. We check that posts look legitimate, include enough detail for workers, and fit our Toronto/GTA hourly-work focus. If something is missing, we may email you before publishing.
Listings stay active for 30 days from approval, then expire automatically. If you still need to hire, submit a fresh post or contact us to extend.
Yes. Hourly workers in Toronto expect to see pay before they apply. Posts with a clear rate or range get better applicants and fewer wasted calls. Vague lines like competitive salary hurt response on hourly boards.
Worktap is Toronto/GTA-first and built for trades, hospitality, transport, and fitness — not generic office recruiting. Listings are human-reviewed, there is no recruiter spam layer, and workers apply directly without creating a Worktap account.
Yes. Many Toronto employers post part-time, casual, and weekend roles on Worktap. Say so clearly in your title or description — workers search by schedule as much as by job type.
We review every listing before it goes live and remove posts that look misleading or fraudulent. We are not a background-check service — always use your normal hiring precautions when interviewing and hiring.
We collect only what we need to run the board — mainly emails you provide for alerts or employer notifications and the information in job postings. We do not sell your data. See our Privacy Policy at worktap.ca/privacy for details.
We review listings before they go live to reduce scams. If something looks wrong, contact us via worktap.ca/contact or hello@worktap.ca. Reports help us take listings down and improve safeguards.
